At the former agency ‹Villarrosàs› from Barcelona we did not only make advertising, but some ‹other things›, too: otrascosas de villarrosàs was a space for unusual projects to promote the agency’s creative spirit.
Here’s some of the pieces I was involved in. And despite these being more than ten years ago, I still value this unique opportunity to design and invent things as we just felt to.
Summercat
Spain in the summer of 2009 had one song, and one song only. The song of local beer brand Estrella Damm’s omnipresent commercial. For a unique live recording inside the agency we designed a case for CD and DVD (oh yes) from scratch, which was then sent out to friends and families.
3 minute portraits of fellow passengers between two Barcelona metro stations – unknowingly and absolutely involuntary. A daily routine for a couple of months, as long as I was living where I was then living.
Bon nadal
A catalan christmas wish sung by the agency, recorded and transformed into a soundwave, then water-cut out of a wooden block as a sculpture to send out to family and agency partners in a custom-made packaging including a video and making-of of the whole shebang? Yes. That.
